2005 The Deming Prize Award Ceremony

The Deming Prize for Individuals was awarded to Mr. Hajime Sasaki, Chairman of the Board, NEC Corporation (Japan).   While taking a heavy responsibility with a vital role in NEC Corporation, Mr. Sasaki has also held prominent posts in quality related organizations in Japan.  Mr. Sasaki has put TQM into practice by leading its significance to the group companies and contributed to the evolution of quality through delivering fresh ideas and training innovation in the field of quality.

The Deming Application Prize was awarded to the following companies and company’s divisions respectively.

(1)	Hosei Brake Industry Co., Limited (Japan)
	While introducing TQM activity which integrates the salient features of TPS, TPM, and TQC, Hosei Brake Industry Co., Limited put efforts to make solid improvement on equipments and product quality as well as customer satisfaction which significantly enhanced its sales and profitability.
(2)	Krishna Maruti Limited, Seat Division (India)
	Bringing up employees and making social contributions through family-like atmosphere are the corporate philosophy of Krishna Maruti Limited, Seat Division.  The division has ensured high profitability by exercising product quality improvement, cost reduction and enhancement of supply chain management.
(3)	Rane Engine Valves Limited (India)
	Rane Engine Valves Limited successfully formed organizational structure designed to largely improve the customer-first quality, and also achieved the major expansion in exporting sales.
(4)	Rane TRW Steering Systems Limited, Steering Gear Division (India)
	Rane TRW Steering Systems Limited, Steering Gear Division established distinctive TQM structure through prioritizing customer satisfaction as its principal, conducting all-hands continuous improvements and reinforcing the capability of the production site.
